Changes at Elsby & Co: Built to Support Growing Businesses

If you’re a growing business, you’ve probably felt it yourself – that moment where your needs start to outgrow the basic, “once-a-year” accountancy support.

At Elsby & Co, we’ve been listening closely to those challenges. And over the past few months, we’ve made some important changes designed to better support businesses at exactly that stage of growth.

Strengthening our team to support you

We’ve recently expanded our team and introduced a new structure, all with one goal in mind – improving the experience our clients have when working with us.

This includes strengthening our audit team, led by Partner Leona Bateman, alongside welcoming new team members and continuing to recruit talented individuals who share our commitment to supporting ambitious businesses.

By the end of the year, our team is expected to grow to around 40 people – giving us even more capacity to support our clients as they grow.

More than just ‘tax-only’ support

One of the biggest shifts we’re seeing is businesses moving away from traditional, compliance-only accounting.

As your business grows, your finance needs become more complex – and often more strategic. You might find yourself needing:

  • Regular management information
  • More insight into performance
  • Support with decision-making
  • A more proactive relationship with your accountant

That’s why we’ve built our service offering to go beyond year-end accounts and tax returns.

Our team delivers a joined-up finance function – covering bookkeeping, accounts, payroll, audit, and management reporting – so you have access to the insight and support you need all year round.

Alongside growing our experienced team, we’re also continuing to invest in the next generation of talent.

Through our work experience programme, we’ve been able to support and develop aspiring accountants – with several team members starting their journey with us in exactly that way.

It’s something we’re really proud of, and it plays an important role in building a strong, sustainable team for the future.

Designed for long-term partnerships

Ultimately, these changes aren’t just about growth for us – they’re about what that growth allows us to do for our clients.

Our aim has always been to build long-term relationships with the businesses we work with. The kind where we’re not just ticking compliance boxes, but genuinely helping you plan, grow, and move your business forward with confidence.

If you’re at a stage where your business is evolving and you’re starting to need more from your accountant, you’re not alone – and it might be the right time to explore what that support could look like.
