Our Values mean something…and are beneficial for our clients
Nowadays, it is all part of the corporate world to have ‘Values Statements’, but how often do they actually mean anything? More likely, they are designed to fit a need, such as how to get more customers.
When Carl and Clare Elsby set up the business, in 1992, they did so because accountants were stuffy – they realised that small businesses actually needed a friendly, approachable and helpful service. Back in those days, we broke with tradition by ditching the collar and tie! We may not have had a Values Statement (computers were only just replacing the typewriter!) but our Values then are not much different to now.
We want to work closely with our clients, and build a strong relationship, and a real understanding. This extends to their personal situations as well as their business. Over the course of a lifetime, this deep knowledge and understanding often enables us to provide incredibly important support and advice in difficult situations. Sometimes family situations can be awkward and our understanding can be of great significance.
We always do the right thing, and work with integrity, and honour. Trust underpins everything that we do. We want to do our best for our clients, over their lifetime, and we want them to trust us, and vice versa.
We want to make a difference, and this drives us in everything that we do. We’re not content to stand still and go through the motions. We’re pro-active and want to improve your business, improve your personal financial situation, identify risks and address them early…. Whatever it takes.
We invest in these things. Because our Values have been consistent throughout our lifetime of over 30 years, we’ve recruited staff who fit in with these Values, and lost those who don’t, and nowadays our Values run right through the business from top to bottom. We provide lots of training, in personal aspects as well as technical, to allow our staff to be the trusted advisers to our clients.
Recently, we were delighted to receive a lovely card and gift from a client where our team had helped a client to a significant extent, upon the death of an individual – not only were our team able to provide a supportive shoulder, we were also able to help with pro-active advice on a variety of different aspects, relative to the situation. This highlights many of our Values – we want to be your accountant for your lifetime, and beyond, we look after our clients in the right way, provide support when you need it, and are always pro-active, looking for ways of helping.
Our Values mean something…we don’t just say, we do…
We develop a real understanding of you, your business and your family situation. We then use our skills and expertise to make a positive contribution in areas that are important to you, so that you can achieve your aims in life.
Our values help us strengthen relationships with our clients and suppliers, build trust and attract and retain talented individuals to be part of our team.

None of us exist in a vacuum. Our community is important to us. We support and help our local businesses, between us we can create opportunities for employment and a better future for everyone.
